The national park Tam Coc is one of the natural miracles of Vietnam. It is located near the city of Ninh Binh.
The name of the park means «Three Caves», though many people know it as «Ha Long Bay on the Rice Fields». It is indeed not less beautiful than the famous picturesque bay. The absence of crowds of tourists makes it even a more attractive place of recreation in the heart of nature.

Tam Coc is a part of a bigger landscape complex Trang An. Visiting it is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with the splendid nature of northern Vietnam within just a day.

Traveling across Tam Coc is a trip on the waters of the Ngo Dong River among golden rice fields that are embraced by peace and calmness and impressive mountain cliffs covered with tropical forests.

The national park is open for visitors at any time of the year. However, the most spectacular landscape is from May to July, when it is harvesting time and rice fields turn into long and soft natural golden locks of hair. Almost at the same time, there starts the flowering of lotuses which thickly cover the water surface with their tender buds.

Even if you come not during the period when the sceneries of Tam Coc are full of bright colors and fragrances, the journey along the picturesque valley of the Ngo Dong River will definitely touch you to your very soul. Apart from incredible views, you will see three local attractions – those caves, in honor of which the national park got its name.

The first grotto is the biggest, longest and widest, though in some places its stone vaults are so low, that visitors have to bend their heads to enter them. It is called Hanh Cave. Its height reaches almost 130 meters, and its width is 20 meters. Walls of Hanh Cave attract attention and fascinate with interesting textures.

The other two grottoes are smaller than the first one. One is 60 meters long, and another – 46 meters. Nevertheless, they are also splendid and give the same fascinating feeling of calmness and unity with nature.
