Dau Go Cave

COM_SCATALOG_FIELD_DESCRIPTION

One of the most impressive and popular caves of Ha Long Bay is called Dau Go, it is located on the island of the same name. To get to the cave you will have to pass 7 kilometers from the shore and spend around an hour on a round trip. The excursion will take you more than one hour.

There are always lots of those who want to see Dau Go. Tourists prefer it simple, so they book a place in a group tour. It is right since it is both easier and cheaper than to get to the island on your own.

After entering the pier, you will have to climb a staircase that leads to the entrance of the cave. It is located at the height of 27 meters above sea level – as if you go up onto the 9th floor by foot. If you get tired by the ascent, do not give up, as, after the ascent, the view of a great cleft in the form of a jellyfish will bring your energy back and will make you intrigued. This is exactly the entrance to Dau Go. Its significant dimensions – 12-meter width and 17-meter height – make hints that there is something interesting inside.

The cave is divided into three main parts. You will have to pass each of them.

In the first grotto, you will be welcomed by the world of stalactites and stalagmites, bathed in natural light. Many rock formations seem to have human shapes and mythical creatures. Locals believe that they are the keepers of the cave who become alive when the cave gets empty.

The entrance to Dau Go may scare you with its dark colors, but the second grotto delights with colorful lighting, which creates a pleasant and mysterious atmosphere. There you get an impression as if you are not in a cave but a theater of shades created by nature.

On the third floor, the excursion in Dau Go will end. In this place, there is a miraculous well with crystal-clean water. Quench your thirst and explore the nearby Tien Kung cave.
