In 2000, an interesting park was founded in Antananarivo – Lemur's Park. A place where such amazing animals as lemurs are rescued, treated, and bred.
The area of the park is quite large, about five hectares. But there are no fences or nets. Lemurs are territorial animals, so they do not go beyond the range of their habitat. Besides, one species will never mix with another. Therefore, Lemur's Park is divided into zones, but this is done naturally, by the inhabitants themselves.
At first, the park was home to nine species of these exotic animals. And the species were not chosen by chance: the park brought those animals that were on the verge of extinction. Here, thanks to the help of doctors and ideally created conditions, their population was increased and then released into the wild.
Currently, there are six species, including Coquerel's sifaka, Crowned sifaka, and Mongoose lemur. All animals feel great here because they live in conditions as close as possible to wild ones and do not interfere with civilization. Of course, there are tourists, but their behavior is strictly regulated so as not to disrupt the usual way of life of wild animals.
Going to Lemur's Park, you should understand that lemurs are not tamed here. Besides, visiting is only possible in groups, and each group is provided with a mandatory guide who both talks about animals and monitors the behavior of guests. The nice thing is that the guide services are immediately included in the ticket price, so you do not need to pay extra.
Besides, the stay in the park is limited in time. Each guest can stay here for no more than an hour and a half. On the one hand, this may seem unfair. On the other hand, Lemur's Park is not an amusement park, it is a nursery that is engaged in important work – repopulation of endangered animals. The constant presence of a large number of people near lemurs does not have a positive effect. Therefore, the park's management was forced to take such measures to better adapt the animals and their further introduction into the wild. But don`t worry, as a rule, this time is more than enough to get acquainted with the beautiful residents of Lemur's Park.
