Baie Ternay Marine National Park

Tourism development, cultivation of land significantly changed the existing balance between people and flora and fauna on the territory of Seychelles. To preserve a place of unspoiled nature, one of the largest marine national parks – Baie Ternay – was created on the western side of Mahé Island. This is a unique place where you can see what the world of Seychelles was like before human activity began here.

Hidden between two capes, Baie Ternay preserves a unique flora and fauna. You can only get here by authorized water transport that does not harm the ecosystem. But a trip to this marine national park impresses even the most sophisticated tourists.

Coral reefs, beautiful sea creatures, palm trees of incredible size, and other exotic plants – all this is collected in a rather small area of the national park.

Both professional and novice divers like to come here since all the beauty of the underwater world is located at a depth of no more than 25 meters. Therefore, anyone who knows how to dive at least a little can see it. During the day, you can see bright fish, coral reefs, and strange plants. And night dives will open the world of moray eels, lobsters, and huge stingrays.

Baie Ternay Marine National Park also provides a large number of entertainments for those who do not like scuba diving and are not ready to learn this sport. For example, you can go on a walking tour of the island to get acquainted with the flora and fauna. Many plants and animals in the park are listed in the endangered-species list or are on the verge of extinction. Therefore, it is particularly interesting to look at them.

And after an active rest, you can have a beautiful dinner with a view of the stunning sunset from the specially designated areas.
