Songs in an unknown language, a huge number of people dancing strange dances, bright clothes, and jewelry made of beads. You are in the Khaya La Bantu Village near East London. The Xhosa people live here. Most likely, you have already noticed that these guys like to stand out, especially with colorful glass jewelry.

Dancing and singing is a traditional greeting in the village. Smile and enjoy what is happening. Or you can try to repeat some of the movements. Sometimes singing and dancing are interrupted for various crafts. For those who just made friendship bracelets from beads at school, huge multi-colored necklaces, capes, bracelets with fancy patterns will seem something completely unreal. Eyes become round in surprise when you see how local girls masterfully create jewelry.

The Xhosa people willingly share their skills and knowledge. If you want, you can take part in a dance lesson, weaving, beading, clay modeling. For example, you can make a hat out of colored beads in accordance with your social status, occupation, and marital status. This is the criteria for creating an ordinary headdress in the village. Surprisingly, it turns out to be very beautiful!

When a new hat is put on your head, your neck and arms are covered with bright jewelry, and you have a clay vase under your arm, it's time to consult a local healer. It is a very unusual, amazing ritual. On the surface, strange mutterings, fancy outfits, frightening attributes. It's scary, funny, but somewhere in your heart, you believe that it might work.

And, of course, the most pleasant part of the tour to the Khaya La Bantu Village – tasting local dishes. The Xhosa people are famous not only for their beading skills but also for their excellent cuisine. They are most proud of home-brewed beer. This is worth trying.

In the evening, the dancing and singing subside, everyone's leaving, and the village begins to live its normal, non-tourist life. This, too, can be quietly observed from a simple thatched hut, where they offer to stay for the night.
