There are many places in Shanghai where you can learn about its ancient history. What about current culture and contemporary art? For those who appreciate everything new and advanced, it is easy to find something to do in this huge metropolis. First of all, visit the Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA).

The cultural, entertainment and educational institution opened its doors to residents and visitors of Shanghai in 2005. It is the oldest independent museum of contemporary art in the city. It was founded by the Foundation of Chinese jewelry designer Samuel Kung.

From the very beginning to the present day MoCA employees have been diligently searching for magnificent works of contemporary art both in China and around the world in order to provide their authors with a platform to demonstrate their talent and unique vision of art.

There are no permanent exhibitions in the museum, but there is always something to see. The expositions change regularly. In addition to paintings and photos, you can see fancy art objects, installations, performances, retrospectives, and even fashion shows. Be sure that you will definitely find something interesting, unusual, and memorable!

Thanks to this approach to work, MoCA employees always stay up-to-date with current changes in contemporary art and design, and along with them the latest news from the creative sphere is also available to museum visitors. Information is transmitted not only through exhibitions but also through special events. It often hosts lectures, seminars, and educational programs for both adults and children.

The Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art occupies a former greenhouse in the People's Park on the square of the same name. This three-story glass building itself looks like a chic piece of contemporary art, organically integrated into the surrounding space. Passing by it is difficult to take your eyes off its transparent facade, behind which you can see bright and attractive exhibits. It is even more difficult to overcome the desire to visit the museum and carefully examine the presented exhibition. Give in to a pleasant temptation, visit MoCA and satisfy your curiosity.
