Almost the entire territory of modern Kyrgyzstan is occupied by one of the highest mountain ranges in the world, called the Tian Shan. No wonder most of the attractions of this amazing country are snow-white mountain peaks and first-class ski resorts. European tourists have long appreciated the untouched nature of these places and the healing power of local thermal springs. Tens of thousands of tourists visit the former Soviet Republic every year. Besides, one of the country's best ski resorts is located just a few kilometers from its capital and Kyrgyzstan's largest city, Bishkek.
The modern Karakol base is located in the picturesque Karakol Gorge at an altitude of about 2500 meters. Its highest point of skiing is above 3000 meters. There are 5 ski lifts and 20 kilometers of well-groomed trails, the longest of which takes 3.5 kilometers. For those who prefer to ride on virgin land, there are new comfortable snowmobiles or small modern helicopters that can take you to pristine slopes. Even those who have never skied or snowboard can find entertainment to suit their taste. You can go for a walk or choose a snowmobile ride through the coniferous forest.
Mountain or cross-country skiing, sledding on special tracks, or even figure skating on a spacious ice rink – whatever the visitors of the Karakol base want, their wishes will come true. Fantastic panoramic views of the five-thousand-meter peaks of the Tian Shan and the world's second-largest high-altitude Issyk-Kul Lake will always remain in the hearts of the tourists and adorn their albums with colorful photos. Besides, the Karakol base houses many cozy houses-chalets, several cafes, and restaurants, as well as ski schools for adults and children with experienced and attentive professional instructors.
