Such huge Asian tourist countries like Japan, China and South Korea attract different types of people. Everyone can find an attraction that would be perfect for them – the one which they have been looking for. Those who appreciate wild nature will be amazed by mountains, waterfalls and lakes of national parks. Those who are fond of relics, ancient artifacts and old cultural monuments will enjoy the beauty of pagodas and extensive collections of historical museums. Finally, people who like modern urban architecture and landscape design will fall in love with the art objects, skyscrapers, amazing city gardens and other industrial constructions.
In South Korea, one of such important historical objects and also a very popular tourist attraction of Busan is the Gwangandaegyo Bridge. Construction of one of the longest bridges in the republic began in 1994 and lasted for eight years. Its length is around 7.5 km and its width is 25 meters. The bridge has not only a practical purpose which is to connect Haeundae-gu to Suyeong-gu. It is also a symbol of Busan. The bridge, which cost more than 650 million dollars, was actually opened during the XIV Asian Games which were held in Busan in 2002. The official grand opening was several months after it.
At the dawn, hundreds of tourists come there to enjoy the splendid view of the main attractions of Busan: the rocky shores of Oryukdo Islands and peaks of Hwangnyeongsan, sandy beach of Gwangalli and Haeundae and, of course, the scenic road of Dalmaji-gil which leads through pine groves, past fields of blooming white camellias. That picturesque panorama is considered to be one of the most impressive in the country. It attracts numerous photographers from reputable international publishing houses.
