Lots of tourists come to Busan to see modern titanic skyscrapers and luxury snow-white yachts, to walk along spacious streets lacking city hustle and bustle, and spend time on sandy beaches. There you will feel the atmosphere of calmness which is so rare in megacities today, in the era of information and high technologies. However, that city does manage to find a balance between the fast pace of life and the calmness of spa recreation.
There, amidst giant buildings, which remind of a scene from a film about future civilizations, the most popular South Korean beach Haeundae is located. The beach is 1.5 km long and 50 meters wide. It is covered with snow-white fine sand. The gradual slope down to the sea is perfect for families even with little children for whom special playgrounds are organized there. The beach territory is very clean. Apart from lots of deckchairs and parasols, the beach is equipped with wide wooden flooring and a wooden bench which is almost beach long. Everywhere you will find showers and machines with drinking water. The special feature of the beach is the beach library which contains hundreds of books. You will barely find the same even on the most prestigious European beaches.
Thanks to the tall buildings, which as a half-moon prevent the beach from wind, that place is ideal for the organization of many cultural and recreational activities. During summer the national Sea festival with the participation of street musicians and with sand sculptures exhibition is held. During winter the beach is closed for swimming, and the traditional Korean «Full Moon Party» is organized.
