Hitler is the greatest tyrant in history. But once he was an ordinary child who lived his normal life with his mother and father. His family's house still attracts many tourists to Leonding.
The family moved there after the retirement of the father of Hitler, Alois. Alois chose this place for a reason. All his ideas about an ideal village, where you can become old while doing what you love, were implemented in this place
Alois's hobby was beekeeping. He enthusiastically raised honeybees in his apiary and even published articles in scientific journals devoted to this activity. Before retiring, Hitler's father was a customs officer, but he was happy to leave his post to devote himself to his hobby.
Little Adolf was happy to help his father with the bees. Hitler later recalled that the years spent in Leonding were the happiest of his life.
The Hitlers adored their home. In Leonding, Adolf went to school. He liked to play war games and had his point of view on everything that was often different from the opinions of his peers and teachers.
Adolf adored his father, although their relationship was not simple. Hitler's father was not an easy person. He demanded from his son unquestioning obedience, and this was repugnant to the freedom-loving nature of the future Fuhrer. By the way, in order not to follow in his father's footsteps, not to become an average official, Adolf deliberately did not pay enough attention to his studies.
The father often resorted to physical abuse, punished the son. Besides, Alois loved to drink. Adolf periodically had to drag him, completely drunk, from the drinking establishment. Later, the Fuhrer remembered it as the most shameful episodes of his life.
Despite the difficult relationship between father and son, the death of Alois was a shock to Adolf. His father died in 1903. In 1907, his mother, Clara Pelzl, also died after a long illness.
The Fuhrer, as well as Adolf's little brother, who died in 1900, are buried in the local cemetery. Their graves and home are visited by tourists from all over the world.
