If you want to see the most dangerous predators and the cutest herbivores almost at arm's length, then here you are! The Vienna zoo is the oldest in the world. It is located on the territory of the Schönbrunn Palace and Park complex. Its area is 17 hectares. During its existence, it was repeatedly recognized as the best in Europe. On its territory, not only regular excursions are conducted, but also scientific activities.

The zoo is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage and attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world every day. You can choose one of the exciting excursions that will help you learn more about the zoo and its inhabitants.

For example, "Morning awakening" is dedicated to early birds in the literal sense. The zoo opens to tourists early in the morning. Tourists can first see how the birds greet the dawn and then have Breakfast in the Imperial Pavilion.

The themed tour allows you to see only your favorite animals. You can make an individual tour for your request, including only those who are interesting to you or choose an option from those that were made by the zookeepers.

Today, the Vienna zoo is a famous place. It all started in 1570 with a small menagerie, which became a zoo only in 1752 at the behest of Emperor Franz I. Then the zoo had a pavilion for breakfast, which was surrounded by 30 enclosures with animals. In 1779, it became accessible to everyone.

All aviaries in the zoo are multi-level and built in such a way that they have huge territories and all the necessary conditions that are close to the natural conditions of each animal. The inhabitants can be viewed both from the street and in the pavilion.

Sad times came to the zoo during the First World War. Because of the lack of food, many inhabitants died. Even sadder was the Second World War: only 400 individuals out of more than three thousand individuals remained alive.

However, these sad events are in the past. Today, the Vienna zoo has 8,500 inhabitants.
