The palace and park complex in the city of Nesvizh is among the favorites in the ratings of tourist destinations in Belarus. Multi-genre architectural solutions framed by a large-scale landscape park is a place worthy of deep study.

Nesvizh is located 112 km South-West of Minsk. The heart of the complex is the castle, which is one of the most beautiful in the country both in terms of external aesthetics and internal decoration of the halls. The Park with lakes and shady alleys gives the brick exterior walls and ramparts a romantic look.

Since the 1st half of the 16th century, the city of Nesvizh became the possession of the Radziwills, one of the wealthiest and most representative European families. In 1583, the Foundation stone of the future fortress was laid.

In the middle of the 18th century, Nesvizh was occupied by Russian troops. This happened because the owner of the castle had a negative attitude towards Russia. After the siege of the castle, all its valuable collections, including the library of 10,000 volumes, were moved to St. Petersburg.

By the end of the 19th century, one of the largest European landscape parks was laid out around the castle building. It happened in the era of the Radziwill family. This era lasted until 1939 when the owners were forced to leave the family residence. After the Second World War, the green park and spacious castle became a sanatorium. But without proper attention, the castle park fell into a sad state. The complex regained its imposing regal appearance only in 1993. The city then created a National historical and cultural Museum reserve, which included the territory of the castle.

In today's appearance of the architectural monument, the fact that it used to be a fortress can be understood by the external protective walls. The building looks more like a palace. During its history, the castle has been repeatedly changed in the spirit of the era and based on the preferences of the owners. The architecture of the castle has several styles: renaissance and baroque, rococo and classicism, neo-gothic and modern. Gradual changes and features of many architectural styles as if "retouched" the castle to the elegant appearance that it has now.

In the town of Nesvizh, you can take a car ride in the style of "one-day trip". The city is connected by road with Baranovichi, as well as with the highway that connects Minsk and Slutsk. The bus ride from the capital of Belarus to Nesvizh takes about 3 hours.
