Mini-Europe is an amazing attraction in Brussels. You should definitely visit it with your family. It is located right at the foot of the metal 102-meter-high monument named Atomium. Inside the monument, you can visit an observation deck, a museum, and a restaurant. This giant makes the exhibits of the park look even more miniature, so you can easily feel like Gulliver who came to the land of the Lilliputians.
The park occupies an area of 24 000 square meters. Mini-Europe was open in 1989 as a part of a larger park – Bruparck – a perfect place for walking, enjoying nature, doing sports, or organizing a picnic.
You can have a good time in Mini-Europe, especially when the weather is good. At the entrance you will be greeted by animators in funny costumes, who will offer to take pictures. The entrance fee is 15.80 EUR for adults and pensioners and 11.80 EUR for children below 12 years old. Excursions are not organized inside, but you can take a free guide with a detailed description of the park's exposition.
There are copies of the most notable attractions of Europe. Although they were reduced by 25 times, they retained all proportions. In total, there are around 350 buildings from 80 cities. Thus, if you did not travel across Europe a lot, this is an ideal place to see all the beautiful things at once: old castles, famous cathedrals, fortresses, palaces, museums, gardens, fragments of streets and squares. The cost of some layouts reaches 350 000 EUR. Apart from the building layouts, there are reconstructions of important historical events. For example, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
A walk across the park will take no more than 2 hours. Moving around the park is well-thought-out and has a strict sequence, so it is impossible to miss anything interesting. In the end, tourists will see an interactive exposition – the European Union.
On some days, the observation of objects is combined with interesting lectures, performances, and thematic exhibitions. Moreover, the sky above the park is illuminated by fireworks during celebrations. Visiting the park perfectly expands your horizons and enriches the knowledge in the fields of geography, history, and culture of Europe.
