When we say Mlada Boleslav, we are thinking about Škoda cars. The engineering industry in this Czech city boasts more than 100 years of continuous tradition. And the Škoda Auto car Museum, one of the most popular in the country, is happy to show the history of the automobile Department, which has been going on in Mlada Boleslav since 1895.
In that year, Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement founded a joint venture in the city. Škoda is one of the oldest car brands in the world. The Museum tells the history of the brand in an authentic place – in the former production halls where cars were assembled before 1928. You can look back to the past in the vicinity of a large modern factory: new Škoda cars come off the Assembly line right there every day.
And in the Museum, time is always in motion, as it is on a conveyor belt. There are exhibitions, cycles of events, concerts, changes of expositions and exhibits all year round. The center of attraction for Museum visitors is the production facilities of Škoda Auto. The only thing to keep in mind when going to the Museum with the whole family is that the welding and Assembly shops are available to guests over 10 years old. There you can experience the birth of a car, when the floor vibrates in the workshops, and see how the parts are combined into a future car. The tour of the cherished places where cars gather lasts about 2 hours.
The exhibition, where cars are static and "pose" for visitors, including the Depository of unusual sports cars, is open for everyone regardless of age. Tactile tours for visually impaired visitors also take place in the Museum. Professional comments from employees can be obtained in various foreign languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Russian.
A visit to the Mlada Boleslav Museum can be combined with a visit to the birthplace of German car designer Ferdinand Porsche in Liberec. There is a branch of the Škoda Auto Museum in Vratislavice nad Nisou, a suburb of this North Bohemian city.
