Waterfalls

Fascinating rides can be found not only in amusement parks, a forest waterfall can be created by man, and a huge national park can be filled with not only charming birdsongs but also classical music. You can easily prove these facts during an amazing trip to the German national park. By the way, the name of the German park, Saxon Switzerland, also sounds unusual.

The park became a popular tourist attraction in the 19th century. Then it was equipped with hiking trails and handrails for safety. Some travelers were attracted by its fantastic natural landscapes, including the legendary Elbe Mountains. Some came here in search of ancient medieval fortresses. And others were eager to see the unique Lichtenhain Waterfall, one of the most famous pleasure attractions in Saxon Switzerland.

Once upon a time, a small stream with the same name flowed through this place. One ambitious local decided to stop the outflow of the stream, install a sliding dam and start collecting money for showing his creation. The water from the stream was collected in the pond. When tourists arrived, he opened the dam and the water fell down, showering guests with foam spray and making unrealistic roars. The waterfall was impressive. Soon it became famous all over the area, attracting the Germans, as well as curious travelers from other countries, who wished to see this fascinating sight.

Later, the owner of the dam built a cozy family restaurant near the waterfall and began to serve traditional German dishes. The fall of water was accompanied by the sounds of music, which contributed to the unique local atmosphere of the magical forest. Today, this attraction is especially loved by young children. But it also pleases adults. After all, who wouldn't want to enjoy a cascading waterfall to the sound of classical music over a cup of herb tea in the middle of a wild forest?
