An ideal place for a family holiday, which is entertaining for young children and teenagers and relaxing for seniors. Whether you are a fan of active recreation or slow walks along shady alleys, the urban park of Jurmala has something to suit your taste.
It seems that this place is unreal, everything is too perfect and looks like an urban legend. Actually, it had been a legend until the creative team of the Substance architectural bureau decided to turn an ordinary amusement park into an ideal European leisure area. This is how the delightful Dzintari Park appeared next to the concert hall of the same name, in the very center of the Latvian resort.
The unique Dzintari Park with an area of 13 hectares can be safely called the "green lungs" of Jurmala, because it houses dozens of century-old pine trees, and an unforgettable coniferous aroma fills the local air. The entire territory of the park is equipped with hiking trails, paths for cyclists, and roller skaters that are perfectly fit into the natural landscape. There are signs everywhere, it is unlikely that anyone can get lost in this huge park.
The center of the park is occupied by an unusual tower with small observation decks. They are located every 5 meters of the entire tower's height. Visitors can climb to the top only by stairs, but the fabulous view from the tower is undoubtedly worth the effort spent on climbing. In clear summer weather, it offers views of the whole town of Jurmala and even Riga. The total height of the tower is 40 meters. Besides, strong gusts of wind make the structure sway a little, turning the observation deck into a rather extreme attraction.
Lanterns, benches, trash bins... Everything is made in the same style, every little thing in the park deserves special attention. Rides on playgrounds are more like bright art objects, and the seats are suitable for all visitors regardless of their body constitution.
