The many-sided medieval city smothered in bright blooming gardens rises on steep green hills washed by the warm waters of the endless Atlantic Ocean. Chestnut merchants and charming flower girls with fragrant baskets scurry along the winding streets and old quarters dotted with colorful houses in pastel colors like beads. Curious travelers explore every corner of the city in an attempt to discover new picturesque landscapes and majestic architectural monuments. You can endlessly listen to the most beautiful stories about the Portuguese capital, but there is nothing better than to see everything yourself, feel this amazing energy and get to know the hospitable locals. Better yet, see the fabulously beautiful Lisbon from the height of the main observation deck of San Pedro de Alcantara.

The large two-level area with shady alleys and flower beds, benches, fountains, and coffee shops looks more like a city park than an observation deck. Actually, it is a small cozy park. It is just that its largest part is occupied by the deck with a fantastic view of Lisbon.

The oldest building in the city, the majestic Castle of Saint George, rises above the dilapidated red-roof houses of the old Alfama quarter. Like an immortal army of little warriors, they descend to the waters of the Tagus River, defending their city from aggressive guests arriving by sea.

The space between the castle and the observation deck is filled with a flat network of city streets. The most eye-catching is the main promenade, Augusta, followed by the spacious Commerce Square with a formidable statue of King Joseph I of Portugal. Another square, Rossio, with a monument to King Pedro IV, is also clearly visible.

You can admire the Lisbon views from dawn to dusk: this city shines with new colors with each ray of the rising sun. Not to mention the marvelous pink sunsets, that attract almost all the city residents to the deck. Be sure to wait until midnight to have some real fun: local DJ are happy to entertain tourists with new music tracks.
