Built in May 2003, the Bridge of Kisses has become one of the brightest and most romantic attractions in Krasnodar. This snow-white openwork bridge, designed only for pedestrians, spans one of the bays of the Kuban River. It connects the Park of the 30th Anniversary of Victory with the Kuban Embankment, from where one can easily reach the central part of the city.
Zaton district was once a deserted, farther side of the city. In the Soviet period, the embankment was reconstructed, a city beach was made, and trees were planted. Today, this place has become a real oasis in the city center.
The bridge was created not only as a decoration but also as a "loop" route for more convenient walking around the city. The bridge itself is a beautifully carved structure painted white. Besides, it is striking because of the huge metal beams in the shape of the letter "A" and giant retaining cables.
The bridge offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding landscapes: local nature eclectically harmonizes with the modern metropolis, the lush green vegetation of the park is adjacent to elite residential complexes. The bridge has quickly become a favorite holiday destination for citizens and tourists. Besides, its romantic name attracts lovers. It is especially interesting to visit this place at dusk: the evening illumination turns on, giving this place a special, cozy atmosphere. At night, the bridge shines with colorful lights against the background of the sparkling embankment.
There is a pier near the bridge which serves as a starting point for river boat trips, as well as a bicycle rental service. How pleasant it is to ride a bike along the embankment... You can also come to the Park of the 30th anniversary of the Victory to see monuments dedicated to WWII: tanks, cannon gunnery, and even a real submarine.
Other attractions with beautiful names in the surrounding area include the Bench of Reconciliation, the Tree of Love, the Memory Alley, and Youth Square. If you're hungry, there are plenty of cafes and even a panoramic restaurant overlooking the river.
It is safe to say that the Bridge of Kisses was successfully fit into the urban landscape of Krasnodar, quickly gained popularity, and, undoubtedly, became one of the city symbols.
