Their surface is covered with a thin pattern of metal slats. In the evening, when the lights are turned on, the library looks magical.

The building was supposed to be the beginning of a global reconstruction of the city, a large-scale architectural reform of the city. According to the plan of the authorities, Birmingham should become a super-advanced metropolis. The building looks great, but the scale of the project is a little overdone. The problem is that it is very expensive to maintain such a building. For this reason, the library of Birmingham is only open forty hours a week. But there is no shortage of tourists.
