Museum of Bad Art

We are used to seeing the best works of art of the most famous and recognized creators. If it is not a masterpiece, it is a high-quality picture at least. But were you impressed by children's drawings of the sun with 5 eyes or strange experimental works of talented artists which are not accepted by the classical painting? Inspired by this idea, Seattle residents opened an unusual gallery with such exhibits.

Official BAD ART MUSEUM of Art (also known as “OBAMA”) is located in Racer Cafe on the edge of town. Black velvet paintings, drawings by numbers, children with big eyes, dogs playing poker, a monkey with a crown, a woman with a huge crab on the table – it is all about entertainment and pleasure. Any volunteer can put his work on the museum wall. The main thing you need to follow is to make bad art. It should show that there are no boundaries.

The interior of the café suits the paintings. Bright yellow, orange, and red walls, a blue ceiling, multicolored wooden, metal, and soft furniture of various shapes and styles amaze as well as exhibits.

Racer Café in the museum has a hair and beauty salon. Take a coffee or a milkshake and spend several hours getting a hairstyle or manicure. Live music creates an atmosphere. 

It is not surprising that such a place attracts extraordinary visitors. You can meet amateurs and ardent haters of art, artists and anti-artists, musicians, thinkers, hipsters, and passers-by. If you get lucky, you can be a listener of a dialogue about creativity. So, you can join this party and talk because there are no boundaries in this place. 

Every month the museum organizes “real art” evenings. There, people select new exhibits, discuss actual features of art or other topics.
