On the one hand, we can only envy past generations. They were the first to discover lands and stars, find the lost cities, and the remains of dinosaurs. On the other hand, we are full-fledged masters of technology: we can recreate past worlds and go on a journey through them. So we are not surprised by the fossilized skeletons of ancient dinosaurs. However, thanks to such geniuses of our time as the famous artist Jorge Barba, we can go further and understand how primitive people lived in the time of the giant dinosaurs. Today we can go to Jurassic Park in the Chilean town of Concepción and see for yourself.
The park was created in 2008 on the territory of Plaza Acevedo de Concepción. But after the opening, it began to be often called Dinosaur Square. One of the most beloved places of the city residents appeared thanks to the gigantic works of the artist Jorge Barba. At first, it was just a few life-size figures of Diplodocus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Pterodactylus. All three species of dinosaurs were chosen by chance: they lived in America, and Atacamatitan ("younger brother" of Diplodocus) lived in the territory of the modern Republic of Chile. Pterodactyls also flew over these lands (although the fossilized remains of the first of them were found in Germany).
The figure of Diplodocus reaches 8 meters in height and 20 meters in length. Together with sculptures of fossilized eggs and traces of a dinosaur, it is one of the most stellar representatives of the dino park. It daily attracts dozens of adults and children.
However, the most ancient dinosaur on earth, the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, is especially loved by tourists. This huge beast 12 meters high also lived in America. Currently, there is a heated debate among experts about whether the Tyrannosaurus was a predator or it was a dinosaur that sometimes ate meat. While the debate among scientists is becoming more and more fierce, locals and tourists enjoy the company of these amazing prehistoric creatures.
